FORGIVING HEART CHURCH

Columbus, Georgia 31907
3 PM to 5 PM
This year we are returning to our grassroots and hosting our Candlelight at the same Church who did the Candlelight Memorial here in Columbus before CVBWF Inc. Rise Above HIV ever came into being. This year we will honor our continued partnership with our community and faith leaders who have worked to so hard to keep AIDS a spoken subject and not like so many who just sweep the topic under the rug and hope it goes away. We still have so much work that needs to be done here in Columbus as well as the South as a whole.
You are hereby invited to Come out and share this time with us as we honor over 32 million worldwide who have lost the fight to AIDS with music, testimonies, candlelight vigil, reverence and refreshments as well as recommit ourselves and our community to better care and support for those living and becoming infected today.

SPECIAL LETTER FROM FOUNDER CVBWF INC RISE ABOVE HIV Jeremy Scott Hobbs
This year we celebrate our 33rd Anniversary of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial. I just can't believe we've endured 33 years of AIDS. On April 13th, I celebrate my 13th Anniversary of the day I was told to go home and make final arrangements because I had AIDS. Along with the help of one of the best doctors I know, and being the machine I have always been, I refused to give up. I refused to lay down and die. And Since that day I have seen some incredible miracles take place. The birth of the Chattahoochee Valley Better Way Foundation which just began its 8th Anniversary, the First Sterilization Cure with Timothy Ray Brown and the many scientific advances that have occurred in just the last 6 years. I am so blessed to be able to see all these things unfold and become reality.
But for over 30 million, they never saw this day come about. They may have dreamed about it...prayed for it. But they never got the opportunity to see their Hopes and Dreams come to fruition. They are our Pioneers. They are our heroes. And on May 15, 2016 we will honor their legacy.
The theme ‘Engage, Educate, Empower’ emphasizes the need for people living with and affected by HIV to join hands and work together in the response to HIV. To engage people, communities, governments and donors in ending the epidemic. To educate the current and next generation about HIV, treatment, prevention and care, and how it affects our lives. To empower people living with HIV in all their diversity to stand up for their right to live a life free of stigma and discrimination. Only when involving people living with HIV can resources be used efficiently to provide a sustainable HIV response for universal access to quality health and social services.
Please be sure to RSVP your attendance on our Facebook Page. For any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at (706) 580-6239.
